THE ROSE OF SHARON

Bride:

"I am the rose of Sharon"....

Bridegroom:

"Like a lily among the thorns is my darling among the maidens."
   Song of Solomon 2:1-2

Located at the far end of the sanctuary from the "Light of the World", the "Rose of Sharon Window" symbolizes the Bride of Christ.  Symbolically Christ, the Bridegroom, is shown as reaching out for His beloved bride.  This is the message that these windows bring to the Nation of India, the love that the Lord Jesus Christ has for His bride the church.  The bride is symbolized by the rose of Sharon.  A lily represents the believer, protected by a crown of thorns which are the sufferings of Christ, just as a delicate lily, growing among the thorns, is protected from the grazing sheep.
